5SHX0845F0001 is ABB 4500V reverse conducting RC-IGCT press-pack silicon chip, integrated with built-in soft recovery freewheeling diode inside single silicon wafer, matched with dedicated optical gate driver board 3BHL000385P0101 as a full compact power stack unit. Compared with discrete IGCT + external separate 5SDF series diode stacks, this RC integrated design drastically reduces bus stray inductance, simplifies cabinet internal layout and cuts overall equipment volume. Hermetic ceramic press-pack housing eliminates internal solder layers for outstanding thermal cycling fatigue resistance; the device fails in short-circuit mode to avoid generator loss-of-field runaway hazards in power plant excitation systems. Low snubberless switching losses reduce cabinet heat generation under 24/7 full-load continuous operation.
